Varsity Derby is situated on Friargate and is part of the vibrant Cathedral Quarter. This Varsity is unique as it's a listed building complete with an 18th Century bakery, clay oven situated at the rear.

Whether you’re out for a quiet drink after work or partying the Varsity way into the small hours, Varsity Derby is the bar for you!! The drinks offers are second to none and the food is great; especially when you purchase our infamous V-Card!

Our fantastic food menu still boasts the old favorites – the Dirty Burger, Steak Pie and our famous curly fries. Coupled with some great new additions – Thai Green Curry; Falafel Wrap; Wild Garlic Chicken Salad to name just a few. Varsity can cater for all of your needs.

Meeting up with friends? Why not reserve an area and enjoy VIP service along with our competitive buffets. Or in the summer, enjoy the food alfresco in our beer garden. Mondays sees the return of the pokerdownthepub.com league, come down and play for fun.

Early September sees the launch of the Big Varsity Quiz with loadsa giveaways and great prizes. Wednesday is Derby's CRAZY Two for One night with DJ Tonic playing all the latest tunes. Come down and join our Friday Club with selected drinks only £1.50 with DJ Flash playing the SEXY tunes until late. Saturday is the COOLest party in town so come early for all the latest and greatest tunes.
